Jurors near verdict in Cortlandt wife-slay trial
A verdict could be decided at any moment as the jury continues to deliberate in the trial of 68-year-old Werner Lippe, who is accused of killing his wife Faith and burning her body.
The jury requested to have testimony read back to them for a second time and to listen to the alleged confessions that Lippe made on three separate occasions. Lippe has called those recordings false, saying he made them out of fear that he would be blackmailed.
Lippe has testified that his wife disappeared in October 2008 and was never seen or heard from again. He's accused of hitting her with a stick and burning her remains in a barrel in their backyard that has yet to be found.
