Lawsuit dismissed in case of Spring Valley woman who died after encounter with police

After reviewing the case, a New York State Supreme Court judge ruled that the officers' actions were consistent with acceptable police practices.

A lawsuit filed by the family of a Spring Valley woman, Tina Davis, who died after an encounter with village police in 2020, has been dismissed.
Davis was accused of menacing neighbors and smashing car windshields. When police responded to the incident, they claim she resisted arrest, prompting them to use a taser.
Davis went into cardiac arrest and passed away the following day.
After reviewing the case, a New York State Supreme Court judge ruled that the officers' actions were consistent with acceptable police practices. An attorney for the village stated that the officers did everything possible to save Tina's life during the incident.
This decision marks the end of a legal battle surrounding the tragic events in Spring Valley.
