Lewisboro man accused in machete cop attack
A radiologist from Lewisboro is accused of nearly destroying his home Tuesday morning and attacking police with a knife, a machete and his car.
The wife and children of Dr. Steven Wengrover called 911 frantically just after 9 a.m. after Wengrover allegedly attacked his wife in their home at 44 Brundige Drive.
Police say when they arrived, Wengrover was demolishing the inside of his home with a knife and a machete, which he then turned on officers.
Wengrover got in his Mercedes SUV, drove straight through his garage door and into a trooper's car before he was eventually taken into custody.
State Police Investigator Joseph Becerra says there's still no clear motive for the attack. Wengrover is currently in the hospital.
