Longtime bus driver Anthony McCaffery is retiring after 44 years of service for Liberty Lines Transit.
It all began when he was 11 years old with a simple dream of becoming a bus driver. When he was 14, his mother allowed him to work odd jobs at Liberty Lines in Valhalla.
By the time he graduated high school, he was already working full-time in the marketing division. Then in 1985, he finally got behind the wheel.
McCaffery told News 12 that he will miss the passengers the most – but will enjoy sleeping in after waking up at 3:30 a.m. for many years.
