Some pools and playgrounds could be back open in our area just in time for summer and the warm weather.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that he is leaving the decision up to local municipalities.
Some local leaders are taking a cautious approach. "There's an awful lot of pressure on local governments to open up the pools, and if we do it because we're being pressed and somebody gets sick what's going to happen to the local governments? They're going to be sued and if there is one, God-forbid, death, it could bankrupt the community," says Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
Greenburgh pools are expected to open July 6. North Castle's pools are expected to open July 1.
