Students at Pomona Middle School in Suffern will experience a longer school day this fall.
The 700 students heading back to class this fall will now put in an eight-hour school day, two hours longer than in years past.
The East Ramapo School district is funding the two extra hours of school time with a state grant won by the organization Wellcore.
Parents News 12 spoke with say they should have been told about the change in schedule a lot sooner.
Wellcore officials say delays in getting state approval delayed the announcement. School starts on Sept. 4.
