One Bronx community is working to stop recent violence in the area.
There were three shootings, two fatal, in Longwood last week. Residents of the McKinley Houses say the violence is out of control and must be stopped. Tenants held a community forum Thursday to encourage residents to report illegal activity and voice violence concerns. Some tenants believe the only way to change the dangerous environment is to be more watchful and vocal.
The local police precinct and politicians were invited to the forum. Some residents say the forum is a way to bring more attention to the problem and work to find a way to reduce violence.
