Authorities say that a Spring Valley police officer was on patrol on Crispus Attucks Road when the officer heard multiple gunshots in the area.
Responding officers found a male laying in the roadway on Rose Avenue, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after.
The male, an 18-year-old former Spring Valley resident, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.
