Hillsborough police say there is no concern for public safety after a man was found dead Monday, face-down in a grassy area near Amwell Road between a gas station and a bank.

Authorities believe the man suffered a medical issue.

Police say they received a complaint of an unknown male who was down and unresponsive at 4:23 p.m. The man was discovered in a grass area between the Shell Gas Station and the Bank of America near the east bound lanes of Amwell Road.

According to authorities, the man was positioned face down, dressed in black clothing and was not easily visible from the roadway.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department.

Police say there is currently no further information available pending a positive identification and next of kin notifications. The medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy to determine a cause and manner of death.
