Redding police say a heavily damaged car was found on the southbound shoulder of Route 53 north of John Read Middle School after 2 a.m. this morning.

Officers say it appears that the driver, a 31-year Danbury resident, hit a tree.
Officers say it appears that the driver, a 31-year Danbury resident, hit a tree.
They say the victim was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
