Shots were fired near a crowd of people and a boy was hit in the foot.

NEWBURGH - A young man was shot yesterday on the streets of Newburgh.

Police say the man was shot in the foot on Galloway Street just off Fullerton Avenue yesterday afternoon. According to witnesses, as many as eight shots were fired, and as many as eight people were standing within feet of the victim.

The victim was taken to St Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made.
