Two gunmen allegedly robbed the victim of his phone and then shot him.

MOUNT VERNON - A man is recovering today after being robbed and shot in Mount Vernon overnight.

Mount Vernon police say the violence broke out just before 11 p.m. on East Fourth Street and South First Avenue in Mount Vernon.

Detectives say the victim had his phone robbed and, during a scuffle, was grazed in the back by a bullet. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for two gunmen. No arrests have been made yet.
