Police in Mount Vernon are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian, sending him to the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 1 a.m. Sunday in front 103 West Second St.

Police say the victim was with a group of people leaving a party at the Macedonia Community Center when he was struck. They say the driver fled the scene toward South Ninth Avenue.
