Many Sugar Loaf residents work hard every day to maintain a ?small-town? feel.

The small town at the base of Sugar Loaf Mountain in Orange County is a weekend getaway for tourists. However, it is a way of life for the dozens of family businesses along the main road. Some of the family-owned shops include pottery and handcrafted jewelry stores.

Some residents formed the Community Vision Committee to work on keeping commercialization out. Many tourists say they are attracted to Sugar Loaf because the people are friendly and area is secluded.
