Police say alcohol may have been involved since Marco Rodriguez was lying in the roadway when he was hit.

SUFFERN - A man was rushed to the hospital overnight after being struck and dragged by a car in Suffern.

Police say Marco Rodriguez, 25, of Suffern, was "laying in the roadway" underneath the I-87 overpass on Orange Avenue when he was hit around 11 p.m. yesterday. Authorities do not think it was a suicide attempt and are looking into the possibility of alcohol being involved.

Rodriguez remains in serious condition at Good Samaritan Hospital.

No charges are being filed against the driver.
