The Maritime men?s hoops team hoped to give its new head coach his first victory Wednesday when the team took on Ferrum.
Head Coach Ed Leonard, who was promoted from assistant coach after Tom Spina resigned, saw some promising play early on from the Privateers. However, Maritime trailed by 11 at halftime. Ferrum won the game 90-73.
Leonard says the team will improve once it works on defense and execution.
