A Maybrook police officer has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in the death of a local teen.

Tiffany Weddle, 19, was struck and killed in September of last year as she was crossing Route 208 in Montgomery. Police say Maybrook Officer John Bennett was heading to an emergency call and hit Weddle. Bennett told authorities he didn't see Weddle because of heavy rain and low visibility.

Town police and the Orange County district attorney's office conducted the investigation and have cleared Bennett of any wrongdoing.
