Mayor Bill de Blasio says he will reverse the last administration's ban on cellphones inside New York City public schools.
The no cellphone policy put in place by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg is still in effect, but it's been loosely enforced around the city.
Parents say it is unfair that they can't get in touch with their children in case of an emergency. Some schools even charge to store the students' phones in vans in front of the schools.
The New York City Parents Union says the policy does not have to be passed by anyone but the mayor, so it shouldn't take long to reverse the current rules that are in place.
Mayor de Blasio says his office will take its time thinking of a policy to make everyone happy.
