Memorial held for slain Spring Valley teen
Family and friends gathered Saturday to say goodbye to a Spring Valley teen who had been missing for two weeks and was found dead earlier in the week. Police say 16-year-old Karesse Ebron was murdered by her 22-year-old boyfriend Ryan Ross. Investigators say Ross took her to a wooded area off Route 45 in Ramapo, hit her over the head repeatedly with a baseball bat and buried her in a shallow grave. Investigators say Ross killed Ebron after she told him she was pregnant with his baby. More than 200 people gathered at the site of her murder near Eugene Levy Park off Route 45 to pay their respects. Teachers, classmates, neighbors and family members placed flowers, lit candles and shared their memories of Ebron. They say she was an outgoing, positive young lady with a bright future that was tragically cut short by a senseless murder.
