YONKERS - An animal advocate organized a memorial service today for the 25 cats found dead and hanging from trees in Yonkers.

The bags of dead cat carcasses were found hanging from trees in an empty lot on Overlook Terrace nearly three weeks ago.

Police say the cats were likely all killed by blunt force trauma.

No arrests have been made in the case, and animal activists and groups are offering a reward to catch the person responsible.
