Police are still trying to determine how a man fell through a roof in the Town of Wallkill.
Zeferino Hernandez, of Middletown, was hired to fix the roof at Rotolo and Son Electric on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say when they arrived, the 56-year-old victim was found suffering from serious injuries.
“A preliminary investigation disclosed that the victim was repairing the roof when he fell through onto a truck below,” says Lt. Robert McLymore.
Hernandez was transported by Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corp to Orange Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Town of Wallkill detectives, along with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, are currently investigating this matter.
