Millions of Muslims across the world are marking the end of Ramadan today.
Many Eid al-Fitr celebrations are taking place across the Hudson Valley, and hundreds of Muslims from the Upper Westchester Muslim Society are celebrating the holiday at the Crown Plaza Hotel in White Plains.
The women here are all dressed in beautiful gowns, and the kids are also dressed up for the occasion. The kids tell News 12 they are all excited because they'll be getting gifts later on. "They'll be so relieved they have fasted for 30 days and they have supplanted themselves.. they have done their duty to God," says Khusro Elley, of the Upper Westchester Muslim Society.
The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.
