POMONA - The search for a missing man from Pomona ended in tragedy today as his dead body was found inside his car at Harriman State Park.

Police say a hiker found 50-year-old Peretz Sontag inside his car Sunday about 60 feet down a cliff in the Haverstraw section of the park. The area had been searched a few days ago, but since the 2012 Kia Optima was so deep in the ravine, it was difficult to see.

The businessman and father of seven was last seen ten days ago when he left his home in Pomona. Hundreds of volunteers conducted ground and aerial searches throughout the Hudson Valley and into New Jersey. Harriman State Park was searched the most, as his family said it's where pings from his cellphone were last detected.

The cause of death is not known at this time. Those close to Sontag say he had recently been battling depression.
