Fire officials in Monsey are investigating what they are calling a suspicious fire at an abandoned home in Monsey. Officials say flames broke out at the home on Old Nyack Turnpike around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Monsey fire officials investigating suspicious blaze at abandoned home
Fire officials in Monsey are investigating what they are calling a suspicious fire at an abandoned home in Monsey.
Officials say flames broke out at the home on Old Nyack Turnpike around 2 p.m. Tuesday. They say a neighbor called police to say she saw smoke and flames coming from the home. Fire officials say the building has been abandoned for about five to 10 years. They believe the fire was caused by a heap of flammable items piled up inside.
The Rockland County Sheriff?s Arson Unit is investigating.
