A stretch of the Palisades Parkway from New City as far north as Orange County had to be completely shut down Thursday morning as snow blanketed the Hudson Valley.
Orange and Rockland Utilities reported some early power outages, but are expecting to have everyone restored by sometime this afternoon.
Snow began falling well before the morning commute, making for a traffic nightmare during the morning rush.
Local police reported too many accidents to count. Department of public works crews also had to temporarily shut down some roads to clear icy spots.
