A mother is accusing the East Ramapo School District of looking the other way while her daughter has been bullied and attacked at Pomona Middle School.
It's been a rough start to the year for Shawnalee Nembhard’s 12-year-old daughter AnnaLee, who claims she's been bullied day after day by the same group of girls. This past week the group was caught on camera slamming AnnaLee to the ground in the middle of the hallway and then kicking her repeatedly.
When Shawnalee saw the video, she went to the school in person the next day asking for answers as to why no one stepped in to help.
"Nothing has been done. Nothing,” she told News 12.
AnnaLee hasn't been back to her school since Monday.
The East Ramapo School District told News 12 that they are taking action, offering to move AnnaLee to a different school in the same district. They released a statement saying they are still investigating and that they will take reasonable action to address each situation.
That doesn't seem to be enough for AnnaLee or her mom.
"I need some action to be taken," says Shawnalee.
