Mounds of snow a headache for Yonkers residents
YONKERS - Stubborn mounds of frozen snow left behind by several recent snowstorms are causing headaches for residents in Yonkers.
Many side streets haven't been thoroughly plowed yet this week, and the mounting snow and ice is making many roads narrower. Hilly streets like Jervis Road are nearly unpassable, residents say, between the mounds of snow, ice and the incline.
Residents on Jervis Road say they're trying to be patient.
Crews worked overnight Friday into Saturday to clear Yonkers' major roadways, moving an estimated 3,000 yards of snow away. They will be out again overnight into Sunday.
