YONKERS - Carmel police confirm that they were summoned to the Mahopac home of Mount Pleasant Police Chief Brian Fanelli hours after he was freed on $50,000 bail following his arrest for child porn possession.

Fanelli, 54, was arrested by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and accused of downloading and sharing more than 120 images of child pornography.

Carmel police confirm that they were called to Fanelli's home by his wife, but they refuse to comment on his condition or where he was taken. Reports indicate he may have been taken to Putnam Hospital Center.

Fanelli did not enter a plea in court. He now has to wear a monitoring bracelet and remain at his Mahopac home. In addition, he has been suspended by the Mount Pleasant police department.
