Mount Vernon boys, Ossining girls win Class AA basketball championship games

WHITE PLAINS - Championship week at the Westchester County Center wrapped up today, with the boys' and girls' Class AA basketball champions named.

In the boys' game, Mount Vernon High School defeated Spring Valley High School, 47-39. This is their 13th section title in the last 15 years. 

Ossining High School defeated Mahopac High School, 76-49 to claim the girls' Class AA title for the fourth straight year.

Both teams now advance to the regional playoffs. Mount Vernon will play Newburgh Wednesday and Ossining will play Kingston Tuesday. Both games will be at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh.
