A Mount Vernon man was convicted Friday in the fatal 2020 shooting of Michael Toro.

Officials say Negus Kirton shot the 21-year-old after the victim stabbed his brother in January 2020.

The brother survived the attack.

Kirton faces 25 years to life when he is sentenced in August in Westchester County Court.
