THE BRONX - Police have arrested a suspect after two men from Mount Vernon were fatally shot in the Bronx early Friday morning.

The NYPD says the two victims were shot at in a car early Friday morning.

One of the victims has been identified as 28-year-old Jermaine Johnson, who was shot in the torso. 

The second victim, identified as 23-year-old Kaiison Lewis, was shot in the head and torso. 

Published reports say that their deaths were a result of an attempted carjacking.

Both were found dead inside a green Acura on Rombouts Avenue and Light Street in the Eastchester section of the Bronx just before 5 a.m.

Jeffrey Pierre was arrested Saturday on two counts of murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
