Mount Vernon students go high-tech

MOUNT VERNON - Students who attend some schools in Mount Vernon are getting a special delivery this morning.

Sen. Jeff Klein secured more than $100,000 to buy tablets, laptops and other tech gadgets for sixth and seventh-grade students within four recently restructured schools in Mount Vernon.

The goal is to provide a better learning experience for children.

The funding will help support an effort to transition schools to a kindergarten through eighth-grade model.
