Mourners pay tribute to slain teacher
Hundreds of mourners packed a Pearl River synagogue Thursday to say goodbye to murdered Rockland school teacher Jami Erlich.
Relatives, students and co-workers from Connors Elementary School in Suffern attended the memorial at Beth Am Temple just 24 hours after Erlich's next-door neighbor, Eric Lau, was charged with her murder.
Erlich was found beaten and stabbed to death in her Valley Cottage apartment Sunday night.
Sources say Lau was obsessed with Erlich, who was apparently in the process of filing an order of protection against him.
Lau has been placed on a 24-hour suicide watch following his arraignment.
