A decadent dessert made in Nanuet is receiving national attention after media queen Oprah Winfrey selected it as one of her favorites.

The staff at Carousel Cakes sent in their red velvet cake and Oprah?s best friend, Gail, loved it and served it at Thanksgiving. The staff then got a note back saying the cake was to be featured on the ?O? list in Oprah?s magazine as a favorite.

Carousel Cakes launched its Internet site in September and once Oprah added it to her list of favorite things, the red velvet cake has been flying off the shelves. They received more than 800 Internet orders for the cake for Valentine?s Day alone.
