Authorities say several people were injured in a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon involving a car and school bus in New Castle.
New Castle police responded to a report of a head-on collision involving a Honda Accord and a Yorktown Central School District bus on Lake Road just after 2 p.m.
Police say the Honda driver was an unlicensed 16-year-old from Bedford Hills who was traveling southbound on Lake Road when they lost control on a turn, crossed oncoming traffic and struck the bus.
The driver and three passengers of the Honda were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Westchester Medical Center says it is treating a total of nine people who were injured in the crash.
It’s not yet clear who the other victims are.
Lake Road was closed for several hours between Croton Lake and Crow Hill Roads, but has since reopened.
Police say the District Attorney's Office is helping with the investigation.
