The City Council signed off on new legislation Wednesday aimed at reducing gun violence in the Bronx and city.
One of the bills calls for a gun offender registry, including hundreds convicted of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. Another bill would ban coloration kits used to paint guns to look like toys. A third bill included in the legislation would limit all handgun purchases to one every three months.
The package of bills was introduced by Mayor Bloomberg (R-NY) in June.
