A community is in mourning after a New Rochelle barber who was hit by two cars last week died Wednesday.

Steve Shaknmurov, 31, was hit by two cars at the intersection of Stevenson Boulevard and Main Street on Valentine's Day. He was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon.

Alex Ribieb, who is the manager at the B&A Barber Shop where Shaknmurov worked, says the accident was shocking to everyone who just finished working with him and were also getting ready to go home.

Shaknmurov had just finished at work at the B&A Barber Shop when, while crossing Main Street to head back to Queens, he was hit.

Ribieb tells News 12 that Shaknmurov had been on life support since the accident and was surrounded by loved ones when he passed.

No charges have been filed.
