New 'shop locally' push launched in Orange
A new rewards program is coming to Warwick to try to encourage people to shop locally.
As part of the program, customers will be able to buy a $5 card that will be swiped every time they buy something at participating stores. Once they spend $200, they will get $10 back on the card.
The owners of small businesses in the town say they hope the program will boost their sales and bring more customers.
The rewards program launches May 1. Organizers say so far 15 businesses have officially signed up.
The reward cards will be made available through local schools districts, parent-teacher associations and libraries.
