State senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer announced that Chobani and Upstate Niagara won a bid to supply yogurt for a new federal school lunch program.
The pilot initiative will provide schools in seven states with yogurt for the month of September.
The Department of Agriculture will then consider proposals to provide yogurt for the remainder of the year.
