Newburgh beating victim taken off life support
Three men accused of beating a Newburgh man may now face upgraded charges after doctors have taken the victim off of life support.
Doctors took 39-year-old Abraham Brennan off life support today and donated his organs to the state's organ donor network. They say Brennan was left brain dead after the brutal beating last week.
Officials say doctors took Brennan off life support on Tuesday and pronounced him dead, but then placed him back on life support after confusion over his organ donor status. During the time Brennan was off life support, police had upgraded charges against 35-year-old Pedro Brown, but then rescinded them once Brennan was placed back on life support.
