Newburgh debates banning fireworks
Residents in Newburgh are being asked to weigh in on a possible ban on selling fireworks.
A public hearing will take place at city hall at 7 p.m. tonight.

After a 100-year ban, New York legalized some types of fireworks in 2014, with the option for local governments to opt out.
If Newburgh bans fireworks, it will be the second city in Orange County to do so. Middletown has already banned sales.
