Newburgh's anti-gang plan to focus on jobs
The city of Newburgh hopes to launch a new initiative aided by federal money to combat gang violence.
Councilman Curlie Dillard says officials plan to use up to $800,000 in funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to help young people transition out of gangs by finding them employment.
Dillard says city officials are speaking with local unions and community groups about the program.
