GREENBURGH - Police have arrested two men believed to be involved with a shooting in a quiet Greenburgh neighborhood on Wednesday.

Police today arrested 28-year-old Dean Shand, of Yonkers, and 26-year-old Richard Roper, of White Plains, in connection with the shooting.

Police say that at around 5 p.m., a group of about five young men were outside a Winthrop Avenue home when a car described as gold or tan suddenly pulled up. A masked man jumped out of the passenger side of the car and fired five shots at the group. The gunman then jumped back into the car and took off going south on Winthrop Avenue toward White Plains Avenue.

No one was hit by the bullets.

Police say they later found a number of shell casings on the street. A 9 mm handgun believed to be involved in the shooting was also recovered when police arrested Shand and Roper.
