WOODBURY - Two major gaming companies have announced they are eying Orange County as a location for two large-scale casinos.

Penn National Gaming and Cordish Companies have expressed interest in the land near the Woodbury train station. Mayor Mike Queenan says the casinos could bring in $10 million just by having the buildings own their property.

"We need to take a hard look at this,” said Queenan. “It might not happen at the end of the day, but if it did, it could be an economic boom.”

The village will determine if it is interested over the next few weeks. Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s commission will make the final decision in the fall.

Penn National Gaming owns and operates more than 20 horseracing and casino gaming facilities across the country.
