YONKERS - A multiple-family house fire in Yonkers sent two people to the hospital and killed four cats.

The flames started at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at 174 Linden Street.

Fire officials say crews found heavy fire coming from the first-floor windows of the house, which spread to the second floor.

Officials say seven families were inside the home sleeping at the time.

The 14 people who lived in the building are being assisted by the Red Cross.

Fire officials are investigating whether a lit candle sparked the fire.
