NEWBURGH - A call about men with guns led police to an alleged drug house in Newburgh and a hunt for suspects on a building's roof.

Police carried out the raid Tuesday morning at 72 Johnston St. They say they found a man on the roof of a building with a bag full of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash, but police didn't find any guns.

Some neighbors believe that a disgruntled girlfriend of one of the men may have made the call and mentioned weapons. While residents do believe the house was a hot spot for drugs, some don't believe that the men ever had weapons.

Witnesses say helicopters and police officers made for a busy scene at the house. Police say they removed approximately more than 10 pounds of marijuana — mostly tossed from the roof.

Six people were taken into custody, but three were charged.
