WALLKILL - Four families were sifting through what's left of their belongings Wednesday after a fire damaged their homes.

Four townhouses on Chaucer Court in Wallkill were damaged when a fire tore through them Tuesday. Two of the townhouses were destroyed while the others were badly damaged from smoke.

Fire officials say the fire appears to have started on the front deck of one of the homes. Officials have shut off the utilities while their investigation continues.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire. The families are now staying elsewhere while they begin the process of starting over.
