CLARKSTOWN - Clarkstown police have arrested seven women in a prostitution sweep aimed at cleaning up illegal massage parlors in Rockland County.

The undercover operation targeted five day spas in Clarkstown where workers are accused of offering unlicensed massages and sexual favors in exchange for money.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe says they will be taking a tougher approach against landlords of these parlors and will go after them in civil court.

All seven women have been charged with a misdemeanor count of prostitution and a felony count of unauthorized practice. The felony charge carries a maximum of four years in prison.
