Annabi, Jereis lawyers file to appeal corruption convictions

YONKERS - Lawyers for former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi and former Yonkers GOP Chair Zehy Jereis have filed to appeal their corruption convictions.

Annabi and Jereis were convicted of federal conspiracy, bribery and extortion charges back in March. The attorneys for the pair say they should get a new trial because the government failed to prove their case and witnesses had contradicted themselves.

Annabi and Jereis are set to be sentenced in October.
