Arctic air forces residents to layer up

NYACK - Residents who ventured outside in the freezing temperatures on Tuesday took precautions to stay warm.

Most people told News 12 that they were wearing three or four layers of clothes. One man said he was still cold despite wearing long johns, sweatpants and jeans.

Some residents went into the Civic Center in Spring Valley to keep out of the bitter cold.

Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme told News 12 that people were able to stay their overnight to avoid the freezing conditions.
